I'm Ruth Wightman, founder of Peak Project Solutions and better known to many people in the industry as the #ChickWithBricks. And yes, I really do love bricks!
I've spent more than 20 years working in construction and still love the challenge of finding the right product or solving a problem that's got everyone scratching their heads. I've worked with architects, contractors, developers, manufacturers and specialist suppliers on everything from private homes and listed buildings to major projects including Claridge's and Great Scotland Yard Hotel.
I set up Peak Project Solutions to use that experience and the contacts I've built over the years to help clients in a genuinely independent way. I'm not tied to one manufacturer or product range, so if something isn't right for your project, I'm not going to try to convince you that it is.
Sometimes the answer is straightforward. Other times it means tracking down a discontinued brick, finding an alternative product or bringing the right specialists together to solve a problem. That's the bit I love.

When I'm not talking about bricks ...
Believe it or not, there is life beyond bricks! When I'm not working, I love spending time with my husband, my family and Nellie, our dog. I love hiking in the Peak District - especially when finishing with a delicious pub lunch. Love a good pub quiz and also knitting - like most crafters, I have several 'projects' waiting to be finished!

Why work with Peak Project Solutions?
I believe in early collaboration
The earlier I'm involved, the more I can help. Working with architects at specification stage means we can consider design, availability, budget and buildability from the outset, helping protect the specification as the project progresses.
I ask questions
I want to understand the project, what's important to you and what you're trying to achieve before I start looking for solutions.
I do the digging
If the obvious answer isn't the right one, I'll keep looking, using the contacts and product knowledge I've built up over more than 20 years in construction.
I'm independent
'll look at what's right for your project, considering the design, performance, availability and budget rather than pushing a particular product.
I keep things practical
Good solutions have to work beyond the specification. I consider availability, budget, buildability and what will actually work on site.
